Potato Moon concert at Wealthy Theatre

Like to take a minute to give my propers to the crew: tonight's "Potato Moon" concert (8/21) was the best-run Wealthy Theatre concert yet. End of sentence. CMC knocked this one out the park.
No doubt it's easier to look good when you've got that much talent onstage... "Potato moon" is amazing.
Big thanks to Ted for getting the lights and mics setup on Wednesday. Also, thanks to Jeff for the setup help, Brooke for running Tech Booth and switching video, Colleen for her amazing touch on lighting, Tom and Francesca for managing front of house, and City High tech contractor Matt K. for the awesome shots on the new jib-cam up front. Not to mention the many volunteers who managed parking lot security, coordinated flow with artists, ushered and ran concessions.
The U.S. Women's Soccer Team rocked Brazil and CMC rocked the house. Well done all. Thanks to Stancils & Co. for sharing your gifts with the WT audience, tonight.
Cheers,
Erin

Rate changes for IT support effective September 1st
In order for the Community Media Center to keep providing the same level of IT support that we have for the past decade, we will be making some changes to our IT support structure. The hourly rate for IT consulting, maintenance and support will increase from $55/hour to $64/hour. Also, our emergency rate with a 4 hour response time during business hours will increase from $75/hour to $84/hour and our emergency rate outside of normal business hours of 10am - 6pm Monday thru Friday will increase from $95/hour to $104/hour.
The new IT support rates will go into effect on September 1st 2008. These new rates still remain very competitive and continue to provide a low-cost IT support solution for non-profit organizations in West Michigan. If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know.
Try out our new web stream(s)!

Hey there, YCE web listeners! We've been having problems with our Real Audio web stream recently, so we're trying out some replacement options. If you ever try to listen by clicking the "Listen Online" link and you get a "file not found error", or if you're just interested in trying out a new sound, give one of these new streams a test.
Our friends at local Internet service provider Iserv are trying out a new audio streaming system for us, that will allow you to listen from a number of different programs (no more relying on the Real Audio player).
We're just testing things out for now, but we'd like to know what you think.
Click here for a CD-quality MP3 stream (requires a fast connection).
Click here for a lower bitrate stream (if clicking on the CD-quality stream causes excessive buffering, snags or drop-out)
When you click on the link, your computer will ask you what program you'd like to use to open the file. You can choose any media player capable of handling an MP3 stream (WinAmp, Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc.). If you aren't able to connect in that way, you can also choose the "Open URL" or "Open Web Stream" function found in most audio player software and enter the following addresses:
http://shoutcast.iserv.net:8000 (CD quality)
http://shoutcast.iserv.net:8010 (lower bitrate)
Let us know what you think! E-mail kevin [at] wyce [dot] org (replacing the [at] and [dot] with the appropriate @ and . symbols) and tell us how it sounds.

...Talking about what goes on at Wealthy Theatre... quickly makes one realize how interesting a given day is, for us. My discussion went ten minutes over and I felt like we could have been there all morning.
