Channel Zero

Welcome to Channel Zero. Channel Zero is an internet radio project that trains young adults to use words, music, sound effects and computer technology to tell true stories about themselves, their families, their communities and the world as they experience it.

During an eight week training period Channel Zero participants learn to develop and research stories, record interviews, write radio scripts, and use computer technology to edit and produce stories. Through a partnership with SBC and the Grand Rapids Urban League, all necessary equipment is provided by the Grand Rapids Community Media Center. There is no fee to participate.

Channel Zero is an ongoing story gathering project – one which requires the creation of fresh, new stories on a regular basis. For this reason, Channel Zero participants are needed to continue to produce stories after the eight week training syllabus is complete.
